Fowl Players Radio Podcast

"Foul Play" It's the night before the start of the 1932 World Series between the Chattanooga Chasers and the New York Yankees. The Chasers are on a train bound for New York, but the mood is far from the celebration one might expect. Team owner Homer (H.R.) Doubleday is considering ordering the benching of his team's star player, Moose Macker. It seems that Moose has a clause in his contract that will pay him $10,000 if the Chasers win the World Series. With Moose, the Chasers are a lock to topple the Yankees. Without him, the team is doomed. Also on the train is the team's accountant, Jackson (Jackie) Bean, who seems to be nervous about something. Also accompanying the team on its trek to the Big Apple is sportswriter Max (Maxine) Banner and Dick (Daisy) Ironside, Moose's personal bodyguard.

"There's Something About Sven" Welcome to the auction of the year! Northeby’s Auction House is proud to present the finest collection of historic artwork and writings ever. Alex Northeby will be conducting this special auction, which has attracted many wealthy bidders, including Christopher Columbus Rigatoni (an actual American descendent of the famous explorer). A piece of Native American art has drawn “Sitting Cow” Henderson to the auction, and that ancient charcoal drawing has also attracted the attention of eccentric Swede Magnus Swartling. However, Swartling doesn’t have the kind of big bucks it will take to bid on any of these items. With such priceless works of historical art here, tight security is a necessity, but why is FBI Agent Chip Ahoy snooping around and asking questions about someone named Swen? Is it possible that…”There’s Something About Swen?”

The Late Late Late Show

Big changes are taking place at a small local television channel. A desire to compete with bigger networks by new station owner and General Manager G.I. Lovecash has prompted changes that have shaken up the whole staff at WMRB TV in Baltimore, MD. The network once prided itself on wholesome family oriented programming with shows such as the Grecian Gourmet with Chef Georgiou Georgioupolis. However, Lovecash plans to shake up the lineup to more scary and shocking programming with a new show hosted by Goria de Vamp, “the Gothic Goddess” who has been surrounded by controversy her entire career because of the raunchy, gory movies she shows and her outlandish, graphic, and over the top stunts she performs in between segments, all in the name of ratings. Meanwhile, station accountant and mail room clerk Ida Beancounter has been noticing some peculiarities in financial reports, strange invoices coming to the station, and missing petty cash. She has enlisted the help of Private Investigator Anthony “Ant” Tenna to perform surveillance around the station and to report any unusual occurrences.

This is the golden age of television-1954. On Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. all of America turns their TV to the Silverstone Universal Network (SUN) to watch “The $100,000 Answer”. The show’s Hostess is none other than that fabulous former dancing cigarette sweetheart, the one and only Chastity White. The current winning contestant is Professor Klinkenhoffer of the Ethics and Law department at Stanford. Not everyone loves the show, as network head and CEO Silverstone is about to find out, when confronted with dissatisfied former contestant Chance Nelson. The Fowl Players of Perryville Murder Mystery Show on The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad- www.wmsr.com for details Tonight is a very special night indeed. Tonight the very famous Italian chef Appletini is here to introduce a new dish that will knock your socks off and he has picked you to be the first ones to try it. It will be televised so if all goes well, there may be a new TV show for Appletini. At least, that’s what his manager Sexonda Beach hopes. A new show means money and money means Beach can get a cut of the dough. Of course, Appletini goes nowhere without his faithful sous chef B. Alexander who aids him with all things wonderful in the kitchen. Then there is Tom Collins, the event planner, who was a contestant on Appletini’s “Chef Flambe” reality show. Will Appletini remember him? Collins certainly hopes so. Of course, Appletini has a bit of a temper and can be quite the diva, so there is security tonight….just in case.

The Fowl Players of Perryville Murder Mystery Show on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad!! see www.wmsr.com for details It’s PTA night at Cumberland High and everyone is watching Vice Principal Ivan Cheeden to see how well he does since rumor has it that he will be the replacement for retiring Principal Nearbe. In fact, Nearbe is so ready for retirement that he is missing this meeting to play golf. One person who is watching VP Cheeden is Secretary Shirley Oliver, who admires his leadership and maybe a little more. The school’s Social Studies teacher and last year’s Teacher of the Year winner, Mr. Aaron DeWhirl, is here to make sure his new globes get approved by VP Cheeden for classroom use. The PTA Treasurer, Mrs. Shiva Arm, is at the meeting, but is not happy since the check to purchase new bowling balls for the bowling ball team was “misplaced,” potentially costing her son, Alfred Arm, his bowling scholarship for college. Thankfully, Principal Nearbe sent Officer Chuck to make sure the PTA meeting goes well so he can retire peacefully on a high note.

Murder by 9 (8 Central)

Love it or hate it, reality TV appears to be here to stay, and no network is making more of a ratings splash in reality TV than NBS. The recent 9-week series "Whose Pants Are These?" took the world by storm, and viewers were shocked to learn that contestant Lee Strauss won the $1 million dollar prize by being the first to match nine pairs of pants with the show's nine contestants. It was a surprise ending because another contestant, Richard Castaway, sure seemed to have a knack for the game. He wasn't very liked by the audience, though (at least according to the network test groups). The host of "Whose Pants Are These" has been having a rough time since the show ended. There has been a "Variety" cover story that suggested that J.P. Pabst would not be invited back to host the other NBS reality shows in development. That shouldn't matter because Pabst certainly made a lot of money on the last show. Security guard Harvey de Grace knows that. There's very little that happens at NBS that Sullivan doesn't find out about during his late night security sweeps through everyone's private offices. NBS is making a killing, but will it be Murder by Nine?
